Care Philosophy

Dr. Jessica is passionate about helping her patients decrease pain, return to daily activities, and improve quality of life without the use of drugs or surgery, if possible. After listening to patients’ goals, she creates a unique treatment plan to help them heal quickly and optimally.

She grew up in Chicago and attended Chiropractic school at Logan Chiropractic College in St. Louis. She became interested in Chiropractic care after a family member sought treatment for a nagging injury. After months of unsuccessful treatments, her uncle was told that he just would have to stop golfing and running due to his pain. Eventually, he tried Chiropractic care and was able to return to his normal activities pain free.

In her free time, Dr. Jessica likes to spend time with her husband and kids, explore new places around the PNW, practice yoga, cook and watch football.

Dr. David Whitlow, DC, LMT

Dr. David graduated from the University of Western States in 2019 with his doctorate in chiropractic. Although David is a recently licensed doctor of chiropractic, he has seen many thousands of patients as a massage therapist over the last decade.

His specialties include myofascial release technique, trigger point therapy, various muscle energy techniques, and in general he enjoys helping with patients who have low back pain. His studies have also given him ample training on concussion management, functional assessment, nutritional therapy and injury rehabilitation.

David became interested in chiropractic medicine after a car accident in 2010 left him unable to work or compete in Brazilian jiu-jitsu for an extended period of time. A chiropractor helped him regain his freedom from pain and find his form and function again. After his experience as a patient of chiropractic care he went back to school to become a Chiropractor. In the interim, he spent many years working on motor vehicle accident patients as a massage therapist. Through his experience as a patient and from treating patients of motor vehicle accidents he finds a certain level of comfort providing care to personal injury patients and helping them regain what injury takes away.

Beyond his career, his focus is primarily centered around his toddler, wife and other family who live here locally in Portland. He has been a practitioner of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2008 and is an amateur photographer of a wide range of styles. Aside from all of this he is also a student at the University of Western States finishing his master’s degree in sports medicine. After completing his master’s he plans to sit for the certified chiropractic sports physician (CCSP) exam within the next year or so.

Clinical Interests

David spends time each week researching new information available on most any subject related to current and past patients. He is interested in understanding what motivates people to make changes in habits as well as how to help his patients feel motivated to take control of their health. Generally, anything related to preventative or rehabilitative medicine is interesting to him.
