Marathon De Vida 2013 Brings Community of All Ages Together
GRESHAM, ORE. – September 25, 2013 – If you missed Marathon De Vida 2013 on August 31 in Gresham, make sure you watch for it next year. The marathon was attended by over 100 people and brought the community together to promote social interaction and fellowship amongst families.
Woodstock Chiropractic Clinic (Woodstock) and Iglesia Vida Nueva joined forces for the first Hispanic held marathon in the Northwest. The event, Marathon De Vida 2013, was attended by all ages and those that did not participate directly were on the side lines cheering their loved ones and friends on.
“We had a great time at the marathon,” said Dr. Kimberly A. Privitera of Woodstock. “The event promoted healthy living and fun in the community and we cannot wait to help out next year,” she stated.
Marathon De Vida 2013 had both a 6-mile and 3-mile race. The winners for the 6-mile race were: in third place, Roiby Canche, in second place, Salvador Ztinzunt and in first place, Carlos Ortiz. The winners for the 3-mile race were: in first place for the 12-17 age range, Ariel Sangoquiza, in first place for the 18-25 age range Juan Manuel Vadillo, in first place for the 26-54 age range Carlos Barrientos, in first place for the 55-100 age range Meliton Ramirez.
“Congratulations again to the winners,” said Paster Johnny, of Iglesia Vida Nueva. “The event could not have gone better and we look forward to having it again in the future,” he stated.
Woodstock, a major sponsor of the event, is a pillar in the Portland Metro community and believes in supporting community based organizations. Over the years the clinic has given back to the community through partnerships with organizations such as the Woodburn Fiesta Mexicana.
